Hi,
get-adgroup returns two properties, 'member' and 'members', which appear to be the same. The 'member' property is the official schema one and 'members' appears to be derived. Does anyone know why the 'members' property was created when 'member' appears to contain exactly the same thing?

I suspect because AD Users & Computers has a tab called Members on the group properties dialog as does AD Administrative Center. People are used to seeing Members rather than member

If you look at. the 2 properties

TypeName : Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.ADGroup
Name : member
MemberType : Property
Definition : Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.ADPropertyValueCollection member {get;set;}

TypeName : Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.ADGroup
Name : Members
MemberType : Property
Definition : Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.ADPropertyValueCollection Members {get;}

Notice that Members is read only but member is read/write

Thanks. For reading purposes they are exactly the same. It's what I thought.
