Start computer remotely

Would there be a way to start (not restart) computers remotely?
I added the computers to TrustedHosts for remoting, and can restart them ( Invoke-Command -ScriptBlock {Restart-Computer} ) but cannot start them from Power-Off.

Hi Emil,

Not out of the box (to my knowledge). You would need to either use Wake On LAN (WOL) or a call to your hardware vendors IPMI implementation or management system. So it all depends on your hardware I suppose.

I found this script to send WOL packets – I have not tested it though, so cannot vouch for its quallity:
