    Olaf,
you are absolutely right we are not able to determine the difference here.
I guess I have to leave the past behind and don’t care about the crappy data from the past.

unless we can get hold of the date in the users object tab and use the Modified date as reference?

I now have something like this

you got a point there Olaf, would working with select case do the trick? or would it still be impossible to determine?

    Hi Arik,

    not quite

in the above mentioned piece of code I store all the groups in the Note section of the user account.

when for some reason HR made a mistake and this user needs to be enabled again we need to add the groups he was member off before we disabled his account.
    the challenge is
to grab the groups stored in the notes section and add these back into the member off tab
the above mentioned code is only here for illustration on how I’ve exported the groups to the notes section of this user account

    thanks for your assistance

    Olaf,

thanks for that, any thoughts on how to populate the Member of based upon the groups stored in the notes section?

    Best regards

    Paul

    Hi

the reason the password creation is in the same script is only to show how I created the password file since you can also use an AES key.
so line 8 should dissapear from the script
the problem at this point was that cmdkey does not like “System.Security.SecureString” and as such fails to connect because the password is incorrect.
I just found out if you change line 14 by adding $pass = $credential.getNetworkCredential().Password  and change line 16 $password into $pass then it is working and you can now start an RDP session without having to enter your password hard coded in the script
and that’s what I was trying to figure out.

in addition I created another test with the unlock8gb and unlock64gb combined, this is just to see where what goes wrong

this time I get directly an error thrown at me that the Drive cannot be unlocked by the given password which is I suppose somewhere correct if the first drive in the file is different than the one connected on the E drive after it’s first try it’s going through everything and unlocks both drives

another thing is that the output is multiplied at least 5 times at this point where for me just 1 time is sufficient.

    still not working correctly

only 1 drive is unlocked and the other throws an error not found

both ps files unlock8gb.ps1 and unlock64gb are working correctly individually
